Our Story

After experiencing the loss of her brother and volunteering at Miller Children’s Hospital, Kelsey Testman saw firsthand the financial burden funeral costs put on a family. Through talks with her parents and social workers, she realized that families dealing with childhood cancer receive almost no help with covering these costs. Kelsey made it her mission to help families through the difficult time of losing a child to cancer by creating the Forever With Us foundation.

My brother’s funeral was very important for me, it was the last chance I had to say bye, and I want all families to have the special celebration of life as Kyle did.
— Kelsey Testman

what we do

614E2FE1-54B8-496E-9DFB-D195131982BB.JPG

One in five children diagnosed with cancer will pass away from the disease. Most people do not like to think about this aspect of cancer, but it is a very sad reality. We strive to help alleviate some of the financial burden and stress brought on during this time by contributing to the funeral costs, until no more children are taken from this disease.

We currently assist families from Children’s Hospital Orange County, Miller Children’s Hospital in Long Beach, Loma Linda Children’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital, and Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego.

why elephants?

Elephants are one of the only animals who grieve like us after a loss, they shed tears and even try to ‘bury’ and protect those that have passed. An elephant’s character is that of a very kind but fierce fighter, resembling the cancer fighter we honor with this foundation. Elephants have also become a new, big player in pediatric cancer research with over 40 copies of the p53 gene, a protein that fights cancer and other cell abnormalities, whereas humans only have 2.
