John

John was diagnosed with Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma and Hyper IgE Syndrome (a rare immunodeficiency disease) when he was young. In March 2021, he underwent a Bone Marrow Transplant, but due to complications, he remained in the hospital for months. Since day 1, his body contracted different infections that affected his lungs, liver, bladder, and kidneys. As a result, he underwent constant blood transfusions, leaving him physically depleted. For John, every day was a struggle to do the simplest things - like eat, sit up, or even some days open his eyes; however, he stayed strong through it all. After a 7-month long, difficult journey, John passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. John was an amazing son, always willing to help out his parents wherever he could. He was a caring, loving brother to his sister. He was the cousin and nephew who could bring a smile to everyone’s faces. He was a hardworking student, known by his teachers and classmates around him for his dedication. John was loved by so many. He truly touched the hearts of all those he met. John will forever be with us.
