Brysen

Brysen was a 10 year old boy who was well known to UCLA. In April of 2019, Brysen underwent a heart transplant at UCLA. Prior to receiving this transplant, Brysen nearly died. The family has had a long battle fighting for Brysen's life for several years. As a result of the heart transplant, he developed Post Transplant Lymphoproliferative Disorder (PTLD) as a complication of the anti-rejection medications for his heart. He was diagnosed with PTLD in September of 2019 and relapsed in January of this year. Since January of this year, Brysen was hospitalized to manage his PTLD. His mother stopped working since January as an administrator and his father, who is carpenter, has been working part-time. We are so happy to be there for this family during such a difficult time. Brysen is forever with us.
